Cake Chess

A delightful, whimsical chess variant where every piece is a delicious cake or pastry with confectionary-themed moves/abilities, and the goal is to capture the opponent’s “King Cake.” The board is traditional 8x8 with chess-like turn-taking and check/capture-by-rules as the baseline. Add board-spawned “Sweet Treat” pickups that appear as items on squares; when a piece lands on/picks up a Sweet Treat, one of the available temporary advantages triggers (Shield + re-roll/undo a threatened move, one-time extra move for the holder, and swap/redirect control for the next limited interaction). The game remains focused on the single core loop: take turns making legal moves with cake-pieces, use occasional Sweet Treat tactics, and win by capturing the enemy King Cake.
