Moonlight Ride

A sleepy cul-de-sac at the edge of the pines, where porch lights glow, fireflies drift over the fog in the hollows and an enormous full moon hangs low over the ridge. Hop on the BMX parked at the trailhead, a softly glowing bundle tucked in its basket, pedal the winding dirt trail up to the ridge ramp, and feel the wheels leave the ground as you sail across the face of the moon before gliding home over the rooftops.
